Coming up at the end of the next month, the Long Beach Museum of Art will be hosting an interesting group exhibition where 14 accomplished artists are asked to contribute one large scale painting from their careers which they deem as being pivotal. Because of this premise, most of the work included, we would imagine, will be taken on loan from collectors. The list of participants includes Esao Andrews, Sean Cheetham, Natalia Fabia, Alex Gross, James Jean, Josh Keyes, Mario Martinez, Greg Simkins, Nicola Verlato, Eric White, Aron Wiesenfeld, Martin Wittfooth, and Curating Artist and Author Nathan Spoor and Co-curator Jeff McMillan. Feast your eyes on the first piece seen above from Wittfooth entitled The Aviary and make plans for the October 23rd opening of Masterworks: Defining A New Narrative.
