Phil Frost x UNDFTD’s Billboard Project

Seeing that Phil Frost’s epic show at the PRISM with Barry McGee is still showing, it’s good timing for him to collaborate with Undefeated, mega clothing and lifestyle brand, on their billboard project. Frost joins the long list of luminaries such as Kehinde Wiley, Robert Williams, Jose Parla, Os Gemeos, Kaws, and Raymond Pettibon in designing the sign above the Undefeated store location on La Brea in Los Angeles. It was originally on view at the Torrance Art Museum for an exhibition titled “Zoom” and will now make it’s way to Milan. Take a closer look at some […]

Streets: Banksy vs. Robbo not finished

It looks as though Robbo and his crew have painted over another one of Banksy’s pieces in Camden. If you remember, what set off this confrontation was Banksy painting over one of Robbo’s historical throwups, which was over 20 years old (although the feud probably had its origins from even earlier).  After Team Robbo went back and remixed THAT Banksy piece, they now modify another one implying that Mr. B is fishing for street cred. What is making what Team Robbo is doing more effective […]

Teaser: Lola – “Ipsum Factum” @ Corey Helford Gallery

Looking ahead to March, we see that Lola will be unveiling a new body of work “Ipsum Factum” at the Corey Helford Gallery. While working on her second solo show (first solo covered here) at the Culver City gallery, she says “every day is a lesson and a challenge, with noticeable evolution and growth.” For this show, she will be exploring the relationships between humans and animals. Here we see her posing pretty next to one of the paintings she is working on.  Take a […]

Streets: Vhils in Moscow

After his work in Italy for the Fame Festival and in the UK for the Grifter’s group show, it looks like Vhils has moved on to Russia. Moscow seems like a popular target as Mark Jenkins’ work was recently spotted there as well. As you can see, Vhils uses his unique chiseling technique to create this special piece for all Muscovites to enjoy. More images after the jump…

Q&A with Jeffrey Deitch

Following MOCA’s stunning announcement yesterday that Jeffrey Deitch will be taking over their director, the first interview with the gallerist has come out. Tyler Green conducts an incredibly insightful and fascinating Q&A where many of the questions we raised when we first broke the story were answered as well as some that we didn’t think about.  For example, Deitch touches on being forced to disclose what pieces he has in his extensive collection, whether he will be restricted from showing any artists he has worked […]

When Montana Colors heard that Streetfiles, one of the important graffiti webzines in Europe, was in danger of closing down because of lack of funds, they responded generously.
