Souther Salazar opened his show “Last Year’s Man” at Jonathan Levine Gallery last weekend with a huge body of quality works. Continuing AM’s tour of Hong Kong, we made a stop at the Art Hong Kong International Art Fair. This vanguard Asian fair brings together top notch exhibitors from over 110 galleries. Much like our visits toÂ Basel Miami and Armory NYC, in Hong Kong we experienced and saw work from some of theÂ best talents in the art world. Jeff Soto (interviewed) opened his UK solo show to a packed house at StolenSpace yesterday. Sotoâ€™s arrival in London had certainly stirred up lots of fans eager to meet him and see his work in person for the first time. Whoever coined the phrase “beauty is in the details” certainly knew what they were talking about. The two bodies of work currently being shown at Thinkspace Gallery, “A Brief History” by Allison Sommers (interviewed) and Joao Ruas’ “Inner Myth” certainly live up to this age-old saying. Update: Audrey Kawasaki’s Laser Cut Brooch

A little while back, we gave you a glimpse of a laser cut brooch that was to be released from Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed).Â Well, it appears that some were sold at her Space Yui show in Japan and one, much to Audrey’s displeasure, has even made its way onto eBay. What is even more disturbing is the fact that the auction lists the brooch as being sold out when in fact this item is not even limited in edition and will be released for $35 […]

AM spent some more time with Jeff Soto (interviewed) as he was preparing for his upcoming solo at StolenSpace (previewed) this week. AM caught up with Soto ahead of the show to try and understand how the show came together, the symbolism and meaning behind his new work and how fatherhood has changed his career as an artist.
