Previews: Aaron Li-Hil – “Electric Currents and Mortal Wounds” @ White Walls

On November 8th, White Walls in San Francisco will be turning over their project space over to Aaron Li-Hill for his first solo with the gallery. Entitled Electric Currents And Mortal Wounds, the new exhibition will featurepaintings and installation by Canadian artist featuring his signature fencers in motion. Streets: World Roundup (Jul 7 – Jul 20)

A review of recent public works for our Streets World Roundup sees this new mural (seen above) from Shok-1 as one of the standouts. Entitled  The Consumer, the new piece makes a clever modification in the Pac-Man imagery that we are used to and again highlights the sublime translucent x-ray spraycan technique from the London-based artist. Aaron Li-Hill – “Here Now” @ Portsmouth Museum of Art

A couple weekends ago, the Portsmouth Museum of Art hosted a two day only event entitled Here Now. The showcase featured the work of Aaron Li-Hill and Judith Ann Braun, who both produced site specific installations. For his part, the New York-based Li-Hill created one of his kinetic fencer murals, augmented by a loosely constructed scaffold of material. Streets: Aaron Li-Hill (New Jersey)

Earlier this year, we introduced you to the kinetic work of Aaron Li-Hill in one of our Art Focus features. Working in Jersey City on a wall project arranged by Savage Habit, the New York-based artist has recently painted one of his motion-filled portraits inspired by the movements seen in ping pong. For our latest Art Focus feature, we wanted to bring the dynamic work of Aaron Li-Hill to your attention. The recently relocated artist who moved from Toronto to New York City can be seen above working on one of his kinetic and visually arresting installations, another one of which can be seen below. The multi-disciplinary Li-Hill, comfortable across a plethora of mediums, also creates street murals and paintings.
