Art Los Angeles Contemporary ’10 – Regen Projects & Galerie Klosterfelde

Los Angeles’s own Regen Projects shared a single room with Galerie Klosterfelde from Berlin at the Art Los Angeles Contemporary fair.  The two galleries brought out fantastic pieces from their stable of superstars, including a cluster of drawings by Raymond Pettibon (pictured above), photos by Wolfgang Tillmans from his Lighter series, a Matthew Barney piece, drawings and a window piece by Lawrence Weiner, a spectacular Lari Pittman painting, a large Catherine Opie photo, and sculptures by the always-challenging German artist John Bock. Openings: LIVESTRONG x Nike Stages Exhibition (NYC) @ Deitch Projects

As anticipated, the highly praised “Stages” exhibition made it’s US debut yesterday in a beautiful pop-up space hosted by Deitch Projects in New York’s Soho district. As we mentioned when the show debuted in Paris (covered), “Stages” is a traveling exhibition curated by Nike and Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Foundation to elevate awareness of the fight against cancer with some of the art world’s most influential artists. Lance Armstrong and Nike Sportswear’s “Stages” exhibition (previewed here and here) opened up with an amazing roster of artists. “Stages,” (announcement video) the collaborative art project between Lance Armstrong and Nike Sportswear opens at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris on July 17. The show includes some of today’s hottest contemporary and street art stars including Barry McGee, Cai Guo Quiang, Ed Ruscha, Jose Parla, JR, KAWS, Os Gemeos, Richard Prince, Rosson Crow, Shepard Fairey, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara and more.
