Last weekend, the Venice location for Gallery 1988 presented a whole new body work from Dan McCarthy (interviewed). Dear Science is the New England-based artist’s third solo with the gallery (see 2010 and 2011) and featured a series of originals as well as limited edition offerings. Known for his vibrant renderings of different times of day including dawn and dusk where the color and lighting can be quite stunning, McCarthy’s work documenting the great outdoors brings on a feeling of quite reflection when viewing the paintings. Preview: Dan McCarthy – “Dear Science” @ Gallery 1988 (Venice)

Returning to the gallery that previously hosted two of his solos (see 2010 and 2011), Dan McCarthy (interviewed) will be filling the walls of Gallery 1988 with a new body of work, this time at their Venice location. Openings: Daniel Danger & Dan McCarthy @ Gallery 1988 SF

Daniel Danger and Dan McCarthy (interviewed) had a successful opening this past weekend at Gallery 1988’s San Francisco location. With many of the originals and prints long sold out before the opening, “The Watcher in the Woods” has proven to be quite an accomplishment for these two artists in their West Coast debut.
