Upcoming: MondoCon 2014

On September 20 & 21 in Austin, coinciding with the first weekend of Fantastic Fest, the first ever MondoCon will be opening their doors. The event will bring together artists, designers, toy creators, filmmakers, and composers to celebrate film, music, and art with panels, screenings, print releases, art shows, exclusive toy releases, live screen printing, and more. Upcoming: Daniel Danger @ Cotton Candy Machine

Next month, with the opening set for May 10th, Daniel Danger (interviewed) will be returning to the Cotton Candy Machine in New York for a second solo show (see 2011). The New England-based artist uses a process of drawing, digital manipulation, and screenprinting to create his brooding and desolate landscapes, often with solitary figures or structures. Look for selection of originals, drawings, new prints and merchandise, all which display deft hand lighting and color. Discuss Daniel Danger here.  

Openings: “Game of Thrones” Group Show @ Mondo

Game of Thrones fans and attendees of SXSW this year were treated to a group exhibition put together by Mondo themed on the hit HBO series. Releases: Daniel Danger – “i’m not aware if you’re aware of what a distance can become…”

Tomorrow (July 23rd) at 2 pm (EST), Daniel Danger (interviewed) will be releasing his latest print entitled i’m not aware if you’re aware of what a distance can become… The limited edition offering (a run of 200) measures 15 x 30 inches, is an eight color screen print, and will cost $100 with the variant (a run of 20 on stained birch) costing $500. SDCC ’12: Mondo “Game Of Thrones” Prints

With the opening of this year’s Comic-Con, we’ll have some news of things to look out for if you are in San Diego at the moment for the big event. Openings: Daniel Danger – “There is a Wanderlust Growing in Your Bones” @ Rotofugi

Last Friday at Rotofugi, Daniel Danger (interviewed) opened his latest solo show, There is a Wanderlust Growing in Your Bones, which put on display a selection of prints and originals. With custom paper lanterns infused with the New England artist’s imagery, the mood was certainly set in real life for a collection of works that features his signature explorations of mood and lighting. For the film poster collectors out there, Mondo will be releasing their Cowboys & Aliens series today at a random time. AM caught the opening recently of New England artist Daniel Danger (interviewed) at the Cotton Candy Machine in NY. The show featured works which nostalgically brought back memories of  great movie scenes. His signature solitary structures and characters were centerpieces in a series of twilight-based compositions. As mentioned in our teaser, Daniel also brought out some print gems both old and new for some lucky attendees. Check it all out after the jump.
