Upcoming: Jonathan Yeo @ The Museum of National History // Frederiksborg Castle

On March 20th, Jonathan Yeo will be unveiling a series of portraits he has been working on with Cara Delevingne at Denmark’s Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Castle in Copenhagen. He choose the English fashion model and actress as his muse because of her ability to change and curate her image in this age of social media. The exhibition will be the painter’s largest retrospective to date and will have a room solely dedicated to his collaboration with Delevingne over the last 18 months. He further explains […]

Streets: Wes21 x ONUR – “Big Catch” (Denmark)

Invited in by Galleri KIRK for their Out in the Open project, Wes21 x ONUR painted a massive mural in Aalborg, Denmark entitled Big Catch. The two Swiss artists have been collaborating on murals for a while now and this surreal piece that turns the prey and predator narrative around certainly shows how well their skills mesh together. Look for artists Conor Harrington, Faith47, Robert Proch & Sepe, Guido van Helten, Aryz, and the Etam Crew to make their mark before the event is over…

Upcoming: Dan Quintana – “Spectres in Grey” @ Galerie Wolfsen

Previews: Hendrik “ECB” Beikirch – “Monochrome Matters: Harbor, Track and Road Junction Faces” @ Galerie Wolfsen

We recently got these nice photos from Nils Müller, showing German artist and muralist, Hendrik “ECB” Beikirch, working in his studio on a new body of work for his solo exhibition at Galerie Wolfsen in Denmark. Opening on May 8, the show titled, MONOCHROME MATTERS: Harbor, Track and Road Junction Faces, continues the artist’s quest of highly poetic portraits depicting people from the immediate neighborhoods in which they live and gravitate. After painting portraits of random people he met on his travels for his last […]

Streets: Pøbel (Denmark)

To round up our coverage of the Public Art event over in Horsens, Denmark (co-curated by our contributing photographer Henrik Haven), we bring you photos of the work of Pøbel. If you remember, he himself also organized a street art festival (Komafest) last year in Norway. For his part (also see what Brad Downey, Sam3, and Escif did), Pøbel painted a couple murals as well as played with the idea of “mute” pieces which made a lot of noise but in photos disseminated online would make no noise. Streets: Escif (Denmark)

After bringing you photos of the work Brad Downey and Sam3 put in for the Public Art project (co-curated by Henrik Haven) in Horsens, Denmark, we now want to share with you what Escif painted for the event. The Spanish muralist created three pieces – How to survive Horsens (the large wall seen above with characters practicing self-defense, a nod to the town’s bad reputation which is slowly improving with its strong focus on art & culture), Baruck Pizza (a clever piece that mimics the pizza restaurant right next […]
