Showing: Chet Zar & Doktor A – “Oddfellows” @ Stranger Factory

Currently showing at the Stranger Factory in Albuquerque is a dual exhibition from Chet Zar (interviewed) and Doktor A entitled Oddfellows. Aptly named for the strange artistic vision, the joint show from the two features Zar’s grotesque and monstrous portraits painted in a nightmarish fashion that only he can do as well as the Dok’s steampunk mechanical creations put together by his deft hand. The two even found time to collaborate on a sculptural piece together. Check out the rest of the show here. Photo […]

Upcoming: “Conjoined III” @ Copro Gallery

Next Saturday night (January 19th), the third and final chapter of the Conjoined series of group exhibitions (see 2011 & 2012) will open its doors at the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica. The night will also see a mini-exhibition and book release from […]

Doktor A – “Postcard from New Yorkshire” @ MPH

From his beginnings as one of the most highly sought after art toy customizers out there, the UK-based Doktor A has progressed to producing his own sculptural creations, which was only natural if anyone has ever seen his work. For his recent showing in New York at My Plastic Heart, entitled Postcard from New Yorkshire, his full talents were on display with figures created in his robotic steampunk aesthetic with a fine attention to detail.  More photos below… Discuss Doktor A here.

AM regulars like Colin Christian, Scott Musgrove, Doktor A, and Ron English have been invited to the party as well as newer names like Francesco De Molfetta, David Grasso, Shiflett Brothers, Jason […]
