Fans of sculptural work, be sure to show up tomorrow night at the Copro Gallery for the Conjoined II exhibition, a sequel to last year’s showing. Not only will Chet Zar’s (interviewed) fantastic new bronze, The Dead Pope, be on display, a diverse roster of artists will be presenting their three-dimensional creations as well. Preview: “WE HEART WOOD Jibibuts Custom Show” @ Munky King

The “WE HEART WOOD” customs show opens tonight, April 8th, at Munky King in Melrose with dynamic duo Noferin inviting 30 of their artists friends to customize their latest blind box mini wood toys – Jibibuts. Not all artists have what it takes to paint on 3D surfaces, but masters of the art like Jeremiah Ketner, Doktor A, Dan May, Yoskay Yamamoto, and Stella Im Hultberg make it look easy with an awesome collection little works of art. Preview: Doktor A – “Freak Machanique” @ Lift Gallery

Doktor A, who is considered by many to be one of the pre-eminent “customizers” out there, is opening his show “Freak Machanique” tonight in Detroit. He has long since shown he that he has many other talents including painting and sculpting. For this exhibition, he is bringing a new body of his signature steam-punk inspired work (paintings, drawings and three-dimensional pieces) to Lift Gallery including this hand painted and remixed Koibito figure from Yoskay Yamamoto (featured) which he renamed “The Odorous Fish Man.” More preview images he sent us [...]

Openings: Transcenders @ Gallery 1988 LA

“Transcenders” opened in Los Angeles at Gallery 1988 last night. The group show features work from Jason D’Aquino, Doktor A, Scott Scheidly, Jason Limon, and Michael Page. All of these artists are from out of town, but luckily, AM was able to meet up with Jason D’Aquino, Michael Page, and Jason Limon at last night’s opening. “Movers and Shakers” (previewed) opened on Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles’ Chinatown at POV Evolving Gallery and AM dropped by to check it out.
