Openings: “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” @ Copro Gallery

A couple weeks ago, the 20th anniversary of cult hit television show Twin Peaks was celebrated with a group exhibition at the Copro Gallery entitled Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Preview: “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” @ Copro Gallery

As a followup to a similarly themed show last year, the Copro Gallery will be hosting Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me next Saturday, April 21st. Besides artwork depicting the dark side of the iconic television series, the event will also feature unreleased music from the series, David Lynch coffee and donuts, and a video installation of the Red Room as well as many other surprises and surprise guests. Openings: Esao Andrews – “Nowhere” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Recently, Thinkspace Gallery hosted a solo exhibition by artist Esao Andrews (interviewed) entitled Nowhere. The night featured a great collection of artwork that touches upon various themes which fuse a sense of reality with an aura of the fantastical. Pastel colors contrast nicely with dark colors which give the artwork a sense of brooding and melancholy. Preview: Allison Sommers – “Potter’s Field” @ Thinkspace

We’ve already told you about Esao Andrew’s solo coming up this Saturday night (January 7th) at Thinkspace, but you should also note that Allison Sommers (interviewed) will be presenting a new body of work as well entitled Potter’s Field. The showing will include seven gouache works on illustration board including her largest to date (over 3 x 4 feet) alongside 12 Souvenirs Of War that created within tiny antique German matchboxes. As Art Basel Week Miami starts to wind down, although we still have much to show you, some of our attention turns to the shows coming up soon. One of the ones we are looking forward to opens on January 7th at Thinkspace. Releases: Esao Andrews – “Drifters”

Tomorrow, October 26th (3pm EST), Esao Andrews will be selling 16″ x 20″ prints Drifters, a painting first seen at his New York solo (covered) back in September of last year. The new limited edition offering will be in a run of 90 and cost $90. Even more tempting is the little doodle you see in the lower right-hand corner – an original drawing on each print. The third installment of Last Rites Gallery’s annual group exhibition Dark Pop 3.0 opened this weekend in New York. On Saturday, Esao Andrews opened up his latest exhibition at Jonathan Levine Gallery with a new body of work consisting of some of his largest paintings to date.
