We recently caught a show by renowned photographer Terry Richardson in New York’s Half Gallery. Mom & Dad featured an excerpt of select photos from his latest monograph from Morel Books (available here). As the title indicates, Richardson included photos of his late father Bob Richardson, a well-known fashion photographer and mother Annie. There were two installations to accompany the photos. Last week Julia Chiang opened her latest show in New York’s Half Gallery. This exhibition Security Is Mostly A Superstition featured a room size installation of hand crafted ceramic white chains measuring in length from five to thirty feet. The idea is to play with the notion that the laid out chains could be perceived to protect or restrain the sacred environment created by Julia. The show runs through May 2nd, so stop by if you can. Fresh off his run in Bravo’s “Work of Art”, Miles Mendenhall lands a solo show with Half Gallery (co-owned by Bill Powers, a judge in the show) in NYC. The talented youngster, who made it to the finale, and who many felt should have won the entire competition, continues the abstract enlargements he started in his finale show.
