On October 15th, the Urban Dawn II exhibition organized by curator19.90 will get underway in Beirut, Lebanon. James Marshall aka Dalek (interviewed) recently released a 38 color handpulled silkscreen through Dynamo Editions. Untitled 101 comes with a paper size of 26 inches by 26 inches and an image size of 24 1/2 inches x 24 1/2 inches and was produced in an edition size of 50. Just in time for winter mini camp, James Marshall aka Dalek (interviewed) recently completed new murals at the North Ridge Basketball Academy. The locally based artist harnessed his signature gradiated geometric aesthetic to paint the walls high up in a gym that any hoops fan would love to play in, perfectly capturing the organization’s philosophy and ministry. James Marshall, or better known as Dalek (interviewed) by some of his fans, recently finished a series of murals at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Painting his distinctive color spectrum style throughout the institution including the SMoCA Lounge, [email protected], and a mural (co-commissioned by Scottsdale Public Art) in the outdoor courtyard wall that leads to SMoCA’s permanent James Turrell Skyspace, the Hurley affiliated artist and designer certainly left his mark. Continuing to produce public displays of his geometric mastery, James Marshall aka Dalek (interviewed) recently painted another mural at the Hobie Surf Shop in Corona Del Mar. Orange County is kind of ground zero for fans of the American artist’s work because of his affiliation with Hurley – leading to many shows, product lines, and associated events in and around Hurley Space.
