Thinkspace gallery made a move into Culver City last month, and as one gallery leaves to take a step up, another moves in to fill it’s boots. Relocating from Echo Park, The Ronin Gallery now occupies the popular Silverlake spot, and after a few modifications to the space, opened it’s inaugural group show “NEX GEN” last month. The motorcycle culture themedÂ â€œCeleritasâ€Â show (previewed) and silent auction held last weekend atÂ SURU in Los AngelesÂ was a huge success, raising $66,000 forÂ Riders for Health, a non-profit that funds the transportation of medical personnel to remote communities in Africa. The centerpiece of the show was a 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa customized by Barry McGee coupled with a mannequin draped in styling Darren Romanelli fashioned motorcycle leathers. Motorcycle culture and fine art come together this Sunday, July 12 with “Celeritas,” a motorcycle culture themed art show for charity, opening at SURU in Los Angeles. The impressive lineup of artists will utilize elements from motorcycle culture as their canvases, including helmets, apparel and a 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa.
