Following up on their collaboration on a exhibition (covered) for Basel Week Miami last year, art dealers Larry Gagosian and Jeffrey Deitch will be teaming up a new group exhibition entitled DESIRE at the Moore Building (191 NE 40th Street). Curated by Diana Widmaier-Picasso, the show will “explore modern and contemporary approaches to eroticism in art” and feature a impressive roster of artists. Cezanne’s “The Card Players” Sells For Record $250 Mil.

We have finally found something that even David Choe may not be able to afford yet. It has been reported by Vanity Fair that in 2011, the royal family of Qatar purchased Paul Cezanne’s painting The Card Players from the estate of George Embiricos for $250 million. According to Art Review’s annual Power 100 list, Larry Gagosian, the world’s most powerful art dealer, is the art world’s most powerful figure in 2010. This past March 4th will end up being a significant date in the history of Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills. The standard-bearer of all contemporary art galleries in the world premiered a major addition to their 90210 space.
