Tomorrow night (April 20th) in Brooklyn, Lydia Fong, Todd James, Steve Powers, and Alicia McCarthy will be putting on a show at Muddguts. For those in the know, as well as from the artwork used to promote the exhibition, it looks like Fong (aka Barry McGee) will be joining his Street Market buddies James and Powers and has invited his Mission School art movement colleague McCarthy to the party as well. As part of the MoCA’s Art in the Streets exhibition (covered), Todd James (aka REAS), Barry McGee (aka Ray Fong, Lydia Fong, Robert Pimple, Twist) and Steve Powers (aka ESPO) reunited to re-envision their legendary 2000 Street Market installation at Deitch Projects, which itself was a recreation of the trio’s Indelible Market at the Philadelphia ICA earlier that year. New Image Art packed the house last night with their “American Realities” group show featuring the work of Barry McGee, working under the pseudonym Lydia Fong, his wife Clare Rojas, and their long-time friend and collaborator Andrew Jeffrey Wright.
