Previews: Mode 2 – “Transitions” @ Galleria Patricia Armocida

Starting March 10th and until May 7th, Galleria Patricia Armocida will be showing Transitions, an exhibition by Mode 2 (interviewed). Coming back to Italy after taking part in Bridges of Graffiti collateral event of the 56th International Venice Biennale Arte (covered), this is the British artist’s first solo show in the country. For this showing, the internationally acclaimed artist will present twelve large and medium-scale canvases and a site-specific wall painting featuring his refined technique and translucent brush strokes. Showing: MODE 2 – “New Drawings and Other Works” @ Le-Fix Gallery

After bringing you a look at MODE 2 (interviewed) prepping works for his show at the Le-Fix Gallery in Copenhagen, we can now bring you the fruits of his labor. Ranging from drawings to full scale paintings, the European legend shared his signature rendering of the female form as well as pieces with references to his graffiti background and experiences. A couple of days ago, the Le-Fix Gallery in Copenhagen opened a showing featuring New Drawings and Other Works from MODE 2 (interviewed). One of the legends of the European graffiti scene, the provocative painter put his erotic and sensual imagery on display for his Danish fans. Earlier this fall, artist MODE 2 debuted a solid body of work entitled Offerings in Berlin’s Lucas Carrieri Gallery. The hardworking Parisian street artist is known for his distinctive and provocative style, and was able to take some time to share his thoughts with AM with in a candid and detailed interview conducted by Zaza Weissgerber. This past Thursday, Post No Bills gallery held their second gallery exhibit which featured works by the likes of Anthony Micallef, Conor Harrington, Ian Francis, Jonathan Yeo, JR, Mode 2, Paul Insect, Stanley Donwood, Vhils and Zevs. Titled as the European Bailout Show, this exhibition focused entirely on some of Europe’s most interesting artists working today. Showing: “KINDERGARTEN” @ Galleria Civica (Italy)

Today in Modena, Italy, Gallerie Civica is hosting the opening of KINDERGARTEN, a group show featuring the talents of Tom Sachs, Futura, Mode 2, Os Gemeos, Kostas Seremetis and Delta. It looks like each of the artists have taken time to bring some sculptural works and installations to the space, leading to a dramatic setting – one that should be enjoyable for “children” of all ages. It appears that the preparations for Lazarides’ group show “Grifters” is already in full swing (teased). Who can take a stack of hard cardboard or a cold brick wall and create aÂ sensually hypnotic work of art? Mode 2 can. The artist known for his erotic urban techniques opened “Reality, Fantasy, And The Web” (previewed) at Lazarides last weekend. Lazarides will be opening a show tonight, August 21st, at their Newcastle location, featuring influential street artist Mode 2.Â Returning to the UK from a “self-exile” in Paris, he will be exhibiting new paintings and installations, as well as a selection of sketches on display on ground floor of the gallery.Â Judging from these preview images from Ian Cox, it’s shaping up to be a pretty good show.Â More images after the jump…
