Cleon Peterson‘s first UK solo exhibition is on the horizon, so get ready for some carnage Londoners! Peterson’s stories are told in a typically monochrome language, and show a world where violence reigns, interspersed with quirky black humour. His stylized bogeymen are metaphor of course for oppressors of all kinds rather than a straight up glorification of violent people carrying out violent acts. Emma Tooth’s ‘Concilium Plebis’ series of oil paintings have been described as “Extraordinary portraits of ordinary people.” This week sees the Derbyshire based artist open her London solo show at the Lazarides’ Outsiders Gallery, as well as making her debut showing in the United States in Thinkspace’s five year anniversary show.
