Openings: Larry Gagosian x Jeffrey Deitch – “DESIRE” @ Moore Building

On November 29th, art dealers Larry Gagosian and Jeffrey Deitch opened their second collaborative group exhibition for Basel Week Miami. After successful Unrealism show in 2015 (covered), this year’s edition titled Desire, attracted the creme de la creme of the world collectors with its impressive selection of works. Video: R. Crumb – “The Bible Illuminated: R. Crumb’s Book of Genesis” @ David Zwirner

After stopping by the David Zwirner booth at Art Basel last year and checking out the wonderful Marcel Dzama pieces in their inventory, we also learned about an upcoming R. Crumb show. The controversial show from the infamous cartoonist featuring a comic version of the first book of the Old Testament (previewed), has come and gone but the good folks of Vernnisage TV have documented everything with some video footage (seen above).

Preview: R. Crumb – “The Bible Illuminated: R. Crumb’s Book of Genesis” @ David Zwirner

Opening March 4 at Chelsea’s David Zwirner is the latest exhibition of original art work from infamous cartoonist R. Crumb. For this show, Crumb will have drawings from his controversial comic version of the first book of the Old Testament, entitled “The Book of Genesis Illustrated by R. Crumb,” which after a half decade in the making was released late last year. This exhibition was previously at UCLA’s Hammer Museum.
