A couple weeks ago, the 20th anniversary of cult hit television show Twin Peaks was celebrated with a group exhibition at the Copro Gallery entitled Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. With new exhibitions rolling in this weekend at Copro Gallery, we thought we would share some last minute photos we took of the Blab! show that has been running for the last month. The seventh annual show which was also a preview of artwork for the upcoming volumes of BLABWORLD No. 2 and 3, featured artwork from artists like Jana Brike, Gary Baseman, Joe Sorren, SHAG, Chet Zar, Sas Christian, and more. Last night, AM attended the opening party for the South Park Art Gallery (previewed). Hosted by Comedy Central & Opera Gallery, the exhibition invited 15 artists to reinterpret their favorite character or moments from the iconic South Park animated series which is celebrating it’s 15th anniversary. AM attended the private opening for Colin and Sas Christian’s (interviewed) latest show Sas + Colin at New York’s Opera Gallery. As the title states, the main focus was the wife and husband collaborations which brought their unique talents together for a visually stunning exhibition. Sas utilized her hyper realistic painting styles to bring the futuristic subjects to life, while Colin brought the physical presence with his beautifully detailed fiberglass sculptures. After being teased by the Nefertiti sculpture from Colin & Sas Christian (interviewed) for their upcoming show, we were hungry for more and hope you are too. Husband and and wife duo, Colin & Sas Christian (interviewed), return to the Opera Gallery in March, this time in New York. After a strong homecoming of sorts last February in London with a show entitled Inner Space (covered), they are again collaboratively creating a new body of work. Take a look at the first fruits of their labor with this piece entitled Eclipse, fashioned from fiberglass and silicone, and measuring four feet tall. Earlier this year, AM brought you coverage of Corey Helford Gallery’s “Art From The New World” summer exhibition at Bristol’s City Museum and Art Gallery in the UK. It was an exciting exhibition and a rare chance for UK art lovers to meet the group of artists in one place on our side of the pond. Following on from the fantastic preview evening last Friday, Corey Helford Gallery’s “Art from the New World” continued to draw in the crowds on Saturday afternoon for the public opening consisting of a guided tour of the exhibition hosted by the inimitable Gary Baseman and a meet-and-greet signing session with the artists.
