Releases: Von – “Skull 03” Print

Available thru October 31st, Skull 03 is a new print from Von (interviewed) that sees him utilizing some new drawing techniques that he’s been developing over the past few months. The timed edition is A3 sized, costs £30, and features a hazy gestural representation of a skull. Head over here to his website to add this to your collection if you are interested. Upcoming: Von – “Echoes” @ StolenSpace

On July 7th, artist and illustrator Von (interviewed) will be opening a new solo show entitled Echoes at StolenSpace in London. The new body of work in graphite is a continuation of his Elsewhere series – capturing this fleeting moments of personal reflection that is becoming rare in our digital world. The pieces in the show are both detailed and abstract, an aesthetic that fans of the UK-based artist’s work have come to expect. Discuss Von here.

On April 8th, Subliminal Projects will be opening a new group exhibition entitled Out Of Line featuring the work of Aaron Li-Hill, Guno Park (seen above), Mark Powell, and Von. The show participants were chosen for using primarily graphite, pen, and ink as their medium of choice, but also explores how they have expanded on traditional concepts of drawing. Releases: Von – “Skull 02” Print

Available though the end of today, March 15th (UK time), is a new print from Von (interviewed) entitled Skull 02. The A3 sized release is a timed edition with final run determined by demand and costs £20. Featuring some of the avian motifs that the UK-based artist and illustrator is known for, the imagery flocks together with some flowers just right to form a skull. But it here. Discuss Von here.

Openings: “Space//Squared” @ White Walls Gallery

Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). This time around, participating artists were again asked to contribute artwork in a 10 x 10″ format. Breeze Block Gallery opened their huge group show Wider than a postcard (previewed) alongside the first solo show in their new gallery 2 space – olive47’s bonita bonita (featured) a couple of weeks back to a packed Portland crowd. Over 400 individual works went into the postcard show with 200 artists providing postcard sized works. On the back of his Space//Form group exhibition last year (covered), Arrested Motion’s Sven Davis is working with Breeze Block Gallery in Portland again on another huge group event entitled Wider than a postcard.
