Contemporary artist Ron English has been very busy lately. After creating his iconic fusion portrait of Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln in support of the upcoming presidential campaign, Ron has been seen in Denver for the Democratic convention and now returns home to the New York tri-state area to showcase his famous “Abama” image.

By now many have seen Ron English’s “Abama”. The original black and white silkscreen from Upper Playground sold out in minutes. Ron has provided Arrested Motion with some exclusive news for those that are interested in buying the original.

– Thursday, October 2nd Opera Gallery in New York City has put together an event to meet Ron English and hear his story behind the creation of this global image. Opera will be selling the ORIGINAL monotoned Abraham Obama that was painted by Ron English. This original hand painted canvas that started it all will available for sale at the reception. Opera Gallery will also make available 15 unique canvases each painted in a different color (actual picture above). Each 36×24 canvas is silk-screened on painted acrylic, hand drawn/finished by the Ron English himself. Each one is a different colorway and is an unique original.
