Your friends here at AM have a little surprise for those who missed out on the new Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) print that was released recently in conjunction with the “Tiger Tiger Burning Bright” show at Roq La Rue. Thanks to the generosity of the gallery and artist, we are giving one away to a lucky reader! Entitled “Negaigoto”, it was one of limited edition releases sold at the show to benefit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust so feel free to support the charity with your […]

Preview: “The Future Tense” @ The Future Gallery, London

The Future Tense launches itself in London this week with a showing of represented artists Katrin Fridriks, Lee Baker, Mark Webber, Tom Oldham, Joseph Loughborough, Jamie Shaw and Louis Hudson. We particularly like the look of Katrin Fridriks’ work, pictured above. The Icelandic artist currently lives and works in Paris where she composes her abstract explosions of colour using an almost perfect balance of order and refinement complimenting the chaos and urgency seen within her work. The official opening takes place on Wednesday 26th May, […]

Studio Visits / Preview: Greg Simkins – “Inside the Outside” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Greg “Craola” Simkins (featured) is set to open his show on June 5th at the Joshua Liner gallery, so AM took the opportunity to hang with the ever creative mastermind at his Torrance studio. The show “Inside the Outside” (teased) is just that – flipping our world as we know it upside down with a mind-spinning array of painted characters and stories that would impress any hardcore sci-fi or fantasy fan. In addition to Greg’s coveted paintings, he took the time to revisit his roots […]

Releases / Giveaway: VNA Issue 11

Pretty much every show or event we attend, we bump into a group of regulars out showing their support. The VNA crew are no exception to this. We just recently picked up a copy of the brand new edition of VNA – Issue 11 – which features Insa, Case, Gaia and Mike Giant amongst others. This issue builds upon VNA’s already amazing collection of current street art, graffiti, paste up’s and sticker action, but this time adds more features and interviews. Issue 11 definitely deserves […]

Hopefully, some of our readers who have some photo skills were able to get in on the action. “Small Victories” is a photographic celebration of the quietly beautiful, unintentionally funny, people and things all around us – little moments that make life worth living. The work in the show consists entirely of 4×6 photographs, submitted by people all over the […]

Releases: Final “LOST” Prints

With the finale of our beloved “LOST” show scheduled for tonight, we thought it was a good time to highlight the last series of prints inspired by the sci-fi drama. Damon Carton And A Polar Bear have been releasing sold-out prints based on the show’s mythology for a while now, but this final series involves some artists that you are probably familiar with like Tara McPherson, Jeff Soto (interviewed), Daniel Danger (interviewed), and Little Friends Of Printmaking. Take a look at some other images after […]

Probably untrue, but this site lists James Franco as US’s Biennale artist representative. Orange County Museum of Art announces artists in the California Biennial. Art market thriving in Dubai.
