The Center for Maine Contemporary Art recently opened their juried Biennial exhibition where the participating 41 artists were chosen from 654 entries. One of these distinguished artists was none other than painter and sculptor Justin Richel. We particularly enjoy his pieces that deal with the precarious balance of stacks and clusters of sweets, furniture, birds and whatever items he sees fit to throw into the mix. Along these lines, he recently release pictures of the large wall painting he installed for the CMCA entitled “Whirling Dervish.”
