Brooklyn based artist Matt Haber opens a brand new solo show this week at The Bldg in Covington, Kentucky. We’ve followed Matt’s work for a number of years with his regular showings at Jonathan Levine in New York. However, this is his first showing in the Bluegrass state, and the latest in an exciting line of new contemporary exhibitions The Bldg have been bringing over the last year, following the UK’s Prefab77 and everyone’s favorite monochrome dynamic duo, The London Police.
Haber’s folk art inspired world conjures up memories of childhood fables and storytelling – each piece driving a narrative within the subject matter. Perhaps his super-clean style was perfected whilst he worked as an assistant to pop-art maestro Takashi Murakami, but if you haven’t got to see just how tight Haber’s work is previously, then definitely check out his website.
“The Little Voyageurs” opens today, June 25th, and promises a collection of Matt’s work in various mediums – his wonderful paintings alongside drawings, prints and also three dimensional works. Check out a few more images of Matt getting down with the installation after the jump.
