Opening a several weeks ago alongside SHAG (covered) at Jonathan Levine Gallery was Jean Labourdette (Turf One). The self taught French-Canadian artist created a great show he named “The Rising”. Utilizing numerous found objects on which he painted on, Jean worked to create interactive pieces for the viewers. What we enjoyed in particular were the realistic subjects which which were effortlessly integrated into their respective backdrops.
