We recently attended the absolutely packed opening of Marcel Dzama’s latest solo show at David Zwirner, entitled Behind Every Curtain. As promised, the exhibition featured Dzama’s signature watercolor works on paper and dioramas, but also included some amazing life-sized figurative sculptures, as well as sketches and renderings for his movie A Game of Chess. One of  the most captivating pieces of the show was the rotating carousel of metal robot characters, which really captured the whimsy and imagination that make Dzama such a favorite.
