David B. Smith Gallery in Denver’s next exhibition will be Zero-zero – a new collection of work from Jason Thielke. Unlike Thielke’s recent work where he uses gel transfer and laser etching to produce his compositions, Zero-zero promises an entirely fresh body of work comprised of drawn and painted works. It’s been almost 2 years since Thielke’s last solo exhibition of New Works at DBS where AM interviewed him ahead of the show. He tells us that Zero-zero is about achieving a hazy or obscure look, and that he is attempting to create dream-like imagery throughout the subject material. From the looks of these teaser pics Jason sent us of the work in progress, he has been enjoying getting loose and back to basics with this new body of work.
The exhibition opens on Friday April 15th 2011. Read on for more pictures after the jump.
