A couple of nights ago, we headed over to the Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA) to check out two show openings.  One was Street Cred (covered), and the other was Inside Out from the renowned Clayton Brothers (featured). If you remember, last September, Christian and Rob presented an exhibition with the same title at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA), so this is the second showing for this retrospective body of work. We didn’t have the opportunity to attend that show in Wisconsin, but we were very happy to be able to finally see the work in person.

Included in this exhibition was a good mix of installation pieces and paintings. In particular, we enjoyed the building structures filled from floor to ceiling with classic folk inspired and kinetic imagery from the collaborative duo (the painted clothes in the washer-dryers were a nice touch). With this showing, the two siblings, also well-known as teachers certainly showed why they are revered and beloved by many of the relatively younger artists we follow here on AM who have gone through the Art Center College of Design.
