Since you are reading this article, you are probably familiar with the internet and thus familiar with the occasionally changing Google icon (see Jackson Pollock & Norman Rockwell). Well, the next artist that has been commissioned is Takashi Murakami to celebrate the summer solstice which lands on today, June 21st. Entitled The First Day of Summer, the superflat movement founder has decided to enlist the help of his Kaikai and Kiki characters as well as his multicolored flowers. These images were produced over a three month period after dozens of sketches and minute revisions in conjunction were passed between the studio and the Google Doodle team.
