This past weekend, the Corey Helford Gallery presented the latest solo show by the painter Sylvia Ji (interviewed). Titled Gilded Roses, the exhibition featured a collection of work that was accentuated by the artist’s penchant for intricate details as well as her use of a colorful palette. The night featured twelve paintings, all which reference a Victorian-like quality mixed with a slightly surreal tone. As expected, a great amount of her fans turned out to see what Ji’s new work looked like and she didn’t disappoint. The showing also featured an exclusive print giveaway to the first 300 people in attendance.
