A couple days ago, we brought you images of some of the amazing gunpowder drawings being created by Cai Guo-Qiang, his assistants, and a group of volunteers at the Los Angeles MOCA. We now have for you process photos of the second commissioned piece from the renowned Chinese artist entitled Zero Gravity (approx. 11 x 39 feet), which portrays “mankind’s undying fantasy to defy gravity and its unsuccessful challenges by naive measures since antiquity.” For those interested (and if you are MOCA members), you will be able to see the sessions for yourself tonight (6:30–9pm) as he bangs out his third piece and largest by far – Childhood Spaceship.
