Coming up in on November 14th, Fondation Cartier in Paris will be presenting the first major European exhibition from Chinese contemporary art superstar Yue Minjun. His iconic work centers around his characters who have a frozen grin on their faces that “expresses an ironic and disillusioned vision of the social and political situation in contemporary china and of the human condition.” The showing will draw from collections around the world with nearly 50 paintings and includes a selection of sculptural work from the garden of his Beijing studio as well as an series of drawings that have never been shown publicly.
