A week from Saturday, New Yorkers will feast their eyes on the lush new work of Jeff Soto (interviewed). On a night not soon to be forgotten by art fans in the Big Apple, the Riverside-based will be unveiling new paintings collectively entitled Decay and Overgrowth alongside solos from Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) and Judith Supine as well. For Jeff, this show is a continuation of the themes seen in his last NY exhibition – Life Cycle as he deals with the ideas of family, birth, death, growth, and more. Included in the new body of work will be his surreal renderings of what he envisions to be the skulls of his ancestors. Check out some photos from a studio visit earlier this month…
