Tonight (May 18th) at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Souther Salazar will be presenting his fourth solo with the gallery entitled Souvenirs. The show will feature a selection new paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations by the Portland-based artist inspired by the Trading Tortoise, his recent collaboration with his wife, Monica Choy. As you can see in Salazar’s artistic version of the project in the painting above, the two created an interactive art installation in the form of a tortoise-shaped trading post where fans come to barter objects and trade stories in over 30 different cities across the country. If you are in New York tonight, stop by to see visual souvenirs of the memories they created in the course of their travels.
