It turns out a piece from the amazing sold out show (covered) from Kelsey Brookes at Quint Contemporary last year went to the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (seen above in their recent acquisitions show). If you remember, the piece entitled Mescaline was part of his series of paintings inspired by the structures of psychedelics, no doubt drawing from personal experience as well as from his viewpoint as a former biochemist. It sounds like he’s reached the end of the “party drug” works (some seen in progress below), and will be heading in a new direction soon, but will still involve his artistic version of molecules and natural structures. You can see more of his work in the upcoming Works On Paper II group exhibition at the Quint Contemporary Art as well as by following him on Instagram.
