Today, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City will be hosting KAWS’ new show titled UPS AND DOWNS. The exhibition will be featuring select works previously unseen. Much like the new Born to Bend sculpture (covered) that adorned the facade of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the black edition of the iconic 17-foot tall PASSING THROUGH COMPANION has been newly installed on the Nerman Museum’s front lawn.
There will be a opening reception from 6 to 7 p.m. inside the museum’s atrium, followed by a lecture at 7 p.m. by KAWS, in the Nerman Museum’s Hudson Auditorium. Be sure to check out the new exhibition if you are in the Kansas City area, the exhibition runs through February 9, 2014.
