This Saturday, February 1st, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles will be opening a new show from Victor Castillo. In a departure from his usual vivid and colorful paintings, the new body of work will consist of 12 black-and-white paintings on paper as well as a large-scale mural installation. Despite elements of his imagery still in place like the sausage nose characters, the dark social commentary appears to have toned down a bit.
