Continuing his ongoing project entitled Nomadic Experiment, 2501 recently visited the Tuscany region in Italy, where he created some new, interesting public pieces. The idea of this project is to combine painting, sculpture, video and other forms, in order to push boundaries of creative activity. Aside from creating public works, this endeavor will include a couple of gallery shows worldwide that will feature elements of these works as well as new pieces and installations.
For this stage of the project, the prolific Italian artist painted an old station building – Castellina Marittima. Built during fascist regime, the structure features some interesting elements characteristic for the period of time that 2501 wanted to incorporate in his work. Being a fan of architecture (covered), he wanted to highlight those elements with black and white abstract 3D creations, and create work that talks with its environment. Along with painting the abandoned building, he also worked on a large stone egg he discovered nearby. After this, 2501 will take off on a long trip around the world, so stay tuned for more murals, installations and public works from Nomadic Experiment series.
