The art world wouldn’t be where it is without some of the fine institutions that showcase art year round for the public to enjoy. Every year, we look forward to a special benefit held annually at the Brooklyn Museum. The Brooklyn Artists Ball is a tradition for us here at AM, and it looks again to continue to celebrate the great art that is in New York City. This year, on April 16th, they honor especially Jenny Holzer (seen above), Ai Weiwei and Kehinde Wiley.
Like last year’s dinner, a group of special artists are invited to participate and host a table. These artists include Ellen Altfest, Oliver Clegg, Ghost of a Dream, Rico Gatson, Orly Genger, Alejandro Guzman, Nina Katchadourian, Olek, Adam Parker Smith, Iona Rozeal Brown, Carrie Schneider, Alyson Shotz, Courtney Smith, Nick Van Woert, Marianne Vitale, Heeseop Yoon and Jeremy Couillard. Each year, there’s also a auction of works created by the some of the artists attending the ball. Check them out and bid on the works here on Artsy.
After the dinner, there will be a dance party held with a special performance by Le1f, a DJ set by BRENMAR, the Flour Factory, an edible installation by Flour Shop, 3-D scanning by Pioneer Works, and a “selfie” station by Refinery29. Get your tickets here.
