Continuing to bring great art to Detroit, the Library Street Collective will be welcoming in Dave Kinsey (featured) for a showing opening on September 27th entitled Cushion of Memory. His work has become more abstract of late and certainly, the influences of living near the Sequoia National Park can be seen more and more from the wider vantage point and landscape views of his composition. Pulling textures, tones, and patterns from the surrounding environment (trees, plants, rocks, the sky), Kinsey’s imagery in this new body of work seems to have become less character based.
