Opening on the evening of Nov 20 in Los Angeles is Quam Odunsi’s third solo show with Design Matters Gallery. For this exhibition, the artist explores the logical fallacy of distinction without a difference. For those unfamiliar with the term, it occurs when “an author or speaker attempts to describe a distinction between two things, even though there is, in fact, no actual difference. It is particularly used when a word or phrase has connotations associated with it that one party to an argument prefers to avoid.”
The exhibition will feature original content taken on film cameras (35mm, 120mm, Polaroid) which is silkscreened onto canvas and paper; sculpture; and a original short film shot on Super8. A limited edition (of 18) print will be created for the show. Check out the preview images in this post and visit Design Matters Gallery (11527 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles) on Thursday, Nov 20, from 6pm-9pm.
