Releases: Audrey Kawasaki – “Manic” Print

On November 8th, at 12 PM PST, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) will be releasing her latest print thru her online store. The image chosen, entitled Manic, was one of the paintings from her recent show (covered) at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles. The generously sized print measures 16.75″x30″ (includes 1/8″ white border), comes signed and numbered in an edition of 250, and will cost $270 (framed for $495). After several months of traveling and creating murals, ROA opened a new solo with Dorothy Circus Gallery on October 31st, introducing some fresh indoor works. Titled Suovetaurilia, the show is dedicated to Rome and its audience, as it refers to the ancient ritual animal sacrifice of a pig (sus), a sheep (ovis) and a bull (tauris) common at one time in the area. New York based artist Alfred Steiner recently opened a slammin’ exhibition at Joshua Liner Gallery. Entitled Likelihood of Confusion, this show encompassed several cornerstone techniques that the artist has been focusing on of late. The new body of work included his realistic watercolors in which he assembles iconic symbols using eye catching free associated images, oil painted shaped fiberboards, and the jaw dropping 3M based reflective artwork with the Louis Vuitton Don and his run in with the papparazi that we first previewed with a studio visit. On Thursday, the 30th of October, Sainer and Bezt, teamed up as Etam Cru, opened their first Italian show at Varsi Gallery in Rome. The young artistic duo that has been getting a lot of attention with their large scale murals worldwide but also with their fine art works, introduced a new body of work titled Bedtime Stories. Showing through April of next year at the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) is an exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty. Streets: Phlegm x Pixel Pancho (New Zealand)

It looks like Phlegm and Pixel Pancho recently collaborated on a pretty elaborate mural in New Zealand for the Dunedin Street Art Festival. Working around some architectural elements as well as some wall foliage, the signature characters from the UK-based Phlegm mixed well with the robotic tendencies of the Italy-based Pixel Pancho. Tomorrow night (November 1st) in Los Angeles, Brendan Monroe (interviewed) will be be ready to reveal all the hard work he has put in at Heath Ceramics. Blobography will feature some of the amazing organic sculptural forms he created in their workshop as well as some original paintings and drawings.
