Currently at Chalk Horse in Sydney, Mark Whalen (featured) has a new body of work entitled Improper Fraction on display. The new ceramic works included in the exhibition sees the artist otherwise known as Kill Pixie continue explore the “universal perfection of mathematics and geometries” which you can see in the structure seen in his composition. This is countered by the disturbing scenes played out by the artist’s characters that is dark and regimented as well as shows the influence of artists like Hieronymous Bosch and M.C. Escher.
