On October 20th, Petit Palais in Paris will be opening up a new exhibition from Kehinde Wiley entitled Lamentaion. For his first solo show in France, the African American artist will be presenting ten pieces (stain glass works and paintings), some created in his signature style of posing anonymous youths from urban centers in the same way the subjects in classical portraiture. For this showing in particular, Wiley will continuing his use of religious iconography including a reference for the first time to the Virgin Mary.
