On May 20th, Mark Ryden (interviewed) will be opening a solo show in New York featuring artwork from the ballet (covered) he worked on with the American Ballet Theater. Entitled The Art Of Whipped Cream, the exhibition at Paul Kasmin Gallery will feature drawings, sketches and paintings made during the production of Whipped Cream. The opening will coincide nicely with the New York debut of the ballet at the Metropolitan Opera House on May 22nd where the giant of the Lowbrow Art Movement designed the backdrops, props and costumes. Fans in the area should plan to attend the exhibition as well as the ballet (playing from May 22-24 and June 26-30).
