With the releases of associated products in recent days, fans of KAWS had been eagerly awaiting the unveiling of his SEEING/WATCHING duo of sculptures in China. Perched high above ground level on the Changsha IFS Tower in Hunan, the recognizable BFF and Companion characters from the Brooklyn-based artist were finally introduced to the public last week and sit back to back on the edge of a rooftop terrace. The site-specific installation was produced in collaboration with AllRightsReserved and is accompanied by panels of KAWS’ imagery as well as a display of his works inside (more on this later).
