Late Friday afternoon, AM stopped by the vernissage for Art Platform’s debut in Los Angeles. The new event, which looks to become the preeminent art fair in the LA area, is the sister fair to New York’s annual Armory Show. Although it did not attract as many blue-chip galleries as the Big Apple’s version, it was nevertheless an impressive start and we look forward to following the growth and expansion of the event in years to come.
Standouts for us include a mermaid drawing from James Jean, the hyper-realistic work of Davis Cone, the psychedelic paintings of Justin Bower, and a new piece from Todd Schorr among other things. See this and more through the lens of our Carlos Gonzalez after the jump…
