As we’re in the middle of summer, we thought to bring you a closer look at a key installation from Ai Weiwei’s “According To What” exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum (covered). Entitled Forever Bicycles, this massive installation consists of hundreds of bicycles welded together to create a formidable sculpture. Utilizing one of the key modes of transportation of Chinese people to showcase his artwork, Ai Weiwei’s creation takes up the ground level rotunda of the museum. Having traveled to museums & prominent locations such as Taiwan (covered), Toronto (covered), and most recently Miami (covered), this beautiful structure is designed so that it can work both standing up and on it’s side. This exhibition is up until August 10th, so stop by to check it out if you happen to be in NYC.
