Earlier this month, Jessica Harrison presented her first solo show in Paris at Galerie L.J. entitled Flash, a reference to tattoos which ties her new body of work together thematically. On display were a series that the Scottish artist is perhaps best known for, her play on classic porcelain figurines. For this particular group of sculptures, she has added body ink to the bodies of these ceramic ladies, surprising the viewer by altering something that is familiar. Rounding out the exhibition are also a series of three dimensional representations of the some common 2D tattoos as well as some works on paper.
