Bravo TV is casting this week in Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and New York for their new reality show “Untitled Art Project.” The station that brought you Top Chef and Project Runway are hoping to find and/or create the world’s newest art superstar. Produced by Magical Elves (company behind forementioned shows) and Sarah Jessica Parker’s (interviewed about project here) production company, Pretty Matches, one has to wonder if they are serious about the whole competition or will they be choosing contestants based on the “drama” they could create – the real ratings draw.
Judging by how a seemingly more qualified Deitch’s Artstar show was received, there is plenty of pessimism to go around the AM office – especially with a casting call slogan like this: “How do you go from struggling, emerging or even semi-established artist to selling a complete show for $198 million? It’s a big art world out there, but maybe this is one place to start!”
